Located right by the marina where many dhow boats are docked. Across from Souq Waqif. It’s a nice sculpture. I was there on Friday evening, moderate crowd. Many people trying to get in a picture. Some people climb into the water, don’t think that is safe/sanitary but to each their own. It’s good for a quick photo opp if you’re shopping or eating by the souq.
The Pearl Monument in Doha is a symbolic landmark that pays homage to Qatar’s rich pearling history, a cornerstone of the country’s heritage before the oil and gas era. Located near the entrance of the Doha Corniche, this stunning sculpture features a giant open oyster with a pearl inside, set against the backdrop of the sea and city skyline. It’s a favorite spot for photos, especially at night when it’s beautifully illuminated. Visitors often stop by while exploring nearby attractions like the Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art, making it a charming and culturally significant point of interest.
A beautiful, relatively small monument shaped like a large oyster in homage to Qatar's past history with pearls being a very important export in the old days. We passed it on our way as we were going to walk the entire Corniche Promenade (Al Corniche) all the way to the West Bay area.
Beautiful monument in Doha on the water front. Amazing views of the Doha skyline. Very peaceful area to sit and watch the boats. We really enjoyed our visit! Amazing at night and during the day. A must see….
